It was war, but nobody wanted to shoot.
24 December 1914. Soldiers put up decorated little trees along the trenches. Christmas carols can be heard on both sides; same melody, different languages. German and British soldiers slowly advance towards each other; tentatively they try to communicate, to show each other photos of their loved ones.
In an unexpected moment of peace, they play football together.
The story of the Christmas truce, the unofficial ceasefires along the frontline and enemies united against the odds will be told at FIFA Museum in an interactive workshop led by Benjamin Müller. As well as numerous workshops for school classes, the museum will also stage two workshops open to the general public.
Müller is a theatre educator, an actor and a musician focused on providing memorable museum experiences with a message. Visitors can expect an exciting narrative, an interactive production and trip through time – packed with music, learning and games.
This event will be held in German only.
