The 2018 FIFA World Cup™ is drawing nearer! 20 years ago, the "Equipe Tricolore" won football's most prestigious prize on home soil. French filmmaker Stéphane Meunier uniquely managed to create an intimacy to "Les Bleus" with the film crew almost becoming part of the team themselves.
Omnipresent around the pitch, in training or the changing room - even allowed into the most sacred of places during match preparations, the footage show is as inspiring as it is impressive. No wonder then, the film has won numerous awards and has served as a blueprint for the next generation of football documentaries.
In cooperation with the "11mm International Football Film Festival Berlin", the FIFA World Football Museum presents the famous film documentary "Les Yeux dans les Bleus" on Thursday, 26 April 2018 at 19.30 enabling a look behind the scenes of the French national team's World Cup triumph.
As part of its "Football Cinema" series, the museum is honoured to have one of the protagonists of the French triumph in 1998 present: Marcel Desailly.
Before the film screening, the evening's guest will give on stage insights (in English) into what makes the film so special, how he had perceived the shootings on the fringes of what was probably the most exciting and intense football adventure of his life and with what emotions he now follows all the scenes in which he himself wrote history. Desailly will also review the unforgettable 1998 World Cup from his personal point of view.
Join us in experiencing an emotional evening and get yourself in the mood for this summer's upcoming highlight in Russia.
