FIFA Museum in Zurich celebrates record-breaking year, with 273,000 visitors in 2023

The FIFA Museum, the home of international football history and culture, reached a new milestone in 2023 by welcoming 273,000 visitors, the highest number since its opening in Zurich eight years ago. A further 350,000 online visitors explored the museum’s digital exhibitions, while six million fans around the world engaged with the museum’s cultural and educational content over the course of the year.

From 12 December, the World Cup Gallery at the FIFA Museum in Zurich will feature an exciting addition: The showcase of the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023TM, a celebration of women’s football that offers visitors a glimpse of some of the standout objects collected by the FIFA Museum during the recent tournament.

The FIFA Museum is proud to announce a partnership with LEGENDS and the launch of its first permanent exhibition outside Switzerland, in the Spanish capital of Madrid. The exhibition is dedicated to the history of the FIFA World Cup™ and the FIFA Women’s World Cup™, showcasing original objects and memorabilia used in matches and by the players themselves. A world champion who made Italy’s dreams come true: Paolo Rossi was the hero of Italy’s triumphant 1982 World Cup campaign, his exploits on the pitch securing his place among the game’s greats. His life and career will be celebrated at the FIFA Museum’s guest exhibition, Paolo Rossi: un ragazzo d’oro, in Zurich from 10 February to 26 March 2023.

Almost 400,000 visitors worldwide: new visitor record for the FIFA Museum

In 2022, almost 400,000 visitors from over 135 different countries visited the FIFA Museum in Switzerland and internationally. The cultural institution of world football’s governing body thus set new visitor records, both at its headquarters in the Swiss metropolis and internationally.
