On 1 April, the Final Draw for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will take place in Doha. The FIFA World Cup Trophy will travel to Doha for the event. Therefore, the trophy will not be on display at the FIFA Museum in Zurich from 24 March until 3 April.
Almost 1.4 million people enjoyed a trip to the FIFA Museum or engaged with its digital content in 2021 – a growth of around 80% compared to the previous year.
With the expansion of the FIFA World Cup Gallery, the FIFA Museum now tells the story of all the competitions organised by FIFA. Visitors can look forward to some very special new objects on display: the trophies of these competitions as well as a set of Olympic medals.
Between Christmas and New Year, the FIFA Museum opens at special opening hours. In the period from 24 December to 2 January, these opening hours also apply to our Sportsbar 1904.
With a virtual interactive multimedia experience accessible around the globe, FIFA Museum has released the opening chapter of its first digital exhibition entitled “Origins: Pre-Histories of Football” on its official website www.fifamuseum.com.
The FIFA Museum documents the history of football as it is being written. The new season card gives visitors unlimited access to the museum for one year.
Sharing the magic of football with the entire world: “FIFA World Football Museum” becomes “FIFA Museum” with immediate effect to focus on celebrating and safeguarding football heritage and culture globally.
In August, a visit to the FIFA Museum is particularly worthwhile for kids and for owners of a Swiss national team jersey. We also organise a Summer Camp for all children between the ages of 8 and 12.
The new FIFA Museum International Ambassador Diego Forlán
Diego Forlán has been announced as the FIFA World Football Museum’s official international ambassador. The winner of the adidas Golden Ball as the best player of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ will help safeguard as well as celebrate football’s rich heritage and culture on the global stage.
