FIFA World Football Museum and Hyundai Motor Company win iF Design Award 2020

The FIFA World Football Museum's special exhibition "The Women's Game" presented by Hyundai Motor Company won the world-renowned iF Design Award 2020 in the category of architecture. The temporary installation could be visited in Paris at the Jardin Nelson Mandela between 15 June and 7 July during the FIFA Women's World Cup France 2019™.

Hyundai Motor Company built a white exterior out of airbag materials used in its own vehicles for the FIFA World Football Museum. When the exhibition ended, Hyundai Motor Company recycled the materials into tote bag and handed them out to local communities.

From the planning phase of the project, the installation was a creative use of abandoned objects and an eco-friendly approach to modern manufacturing. Hyundai Motor Company tried to minimize industrial waste, and to resolve the goal of reaching innovative and sustainable future.

"We are extremely proud and thankful to win this award together with FIFA Partner Hyundai. With their support, we were able to bring a remarkable exhibit about the history of women's football to the heart of one of the greatest cities in the world, in the midst of the fantastic FIFA Women’s World Cup", says Marco Fazzone, Managing Director of the FIFA World Football Museum.

For more than 65 years, iF Design Award has been recognized as a symbol of excellence by design professionals around the world. Organized by iF International Forum Design GmbH in Hannover - the world's oldest independent design institution - the prestigious prize is bestowed upon top designers spanning various disciplines, categories and industries.
