Diego Forlan: ”Everybody makes history while playing”

While in Doha for the 72nd FIFA Congress and the Final Draw for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 we met with our international museum ambassador Diego Forlán to talk about his role as FIFA Museum Ambassador and how quickly footballers can make history.

The FIFA Museum’s international ambassador Diego Forlàn knows what it takes for a footballer to secure a spot in the history books. Hailing from Uruguay, a nation with two FIFA World Cup wins under its belt, Forlàn earned his place in world football history at the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa. His five goals and one assist helped him win the adidas Golden Ball, the award given to the tournament's best player. In the video he talks about how history can be made in the blink of an eye.

Our Swiss museum ambassador, FIFA World Cup record-holding goalkeeper Pascal "Zubi" Zuberbühler, is also in Doha. The former Swiss national team goalie took some time out of his busy schedule to introduce the three historical objects that the FIFA Museum has on display during the 72nd FIFA Congress and the Final Draw in Doha, including one from none other than Pelé. Take a look and discover the stories these objects have to tell.

You can follow the Final Draw on FIFA's Social Media channels on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. On fifa.com you will find all the information about where, when and how the draw for the groups will take place.
