Luca Boller has done it. At the fourth EA Sports FIFA live tournament on the evening of Tuesday, 21 March 2017, the reigning Swiss champion saw off all comers to secure the title with a 3-0 victory in the final over Vincius Gantenbein. After going close in the three previous editions of the tournament, Boller – one of the pre-tournament favourites – made no mistake this time around.
In doing so, he secured his place in the live final tournament at the FIFA World Football Museum, when a wild card for the European qualifiers for the FIFA Interactive World Cup 2017 Grand Final will be at stake. Boller will be joined by two fellow Swiss – Bruno Bardelas and Julian Ulrich – as well as by Germany’s Erhan Kayman.
“It would be a dream come true if I made it to the Grand Final in London,” said Boller.
The series of live tournaments will continue at the FIFA World Football Museum over the next few months. Each tournament winner will then enter the live final tournament at the museum to determine the overall champion, who will then proceed to the European qualifiers for the Grand Final.
The fifth live tournament will be held on 6 April. Registration will open on 27 March.
