Zurich's Long Night of Museums is a permanent fixture in the city's cultural calendar. This year, the event once again attracted thousands of late-night visitors to the city's museums. The FIFA Museum opened its doors until the early hours of the morning, and here are a few impressions of that long night.
Unsurprisingly, the programme for the Long Night was led by a handful of football legends. Italian world champion and FIFA Museum Ambassador Gianluca Zambrotta, together with FIFA Museum Ambassadors Pascal Zuberbühler and Prisca Steinegger, as well as local FCZ legends Martina Moser and Marco Schönbächler, shared exciting and emotional stories from their successful careers.
In addition to the opportunity to get an autograph from the legends, visitors also had the rare chance to visit our collection archives. During the guided tour through the ‘catacombs’ of the museum, the participants learned, among other things, how the museum expands its collection, arranges and archives the objects and why a sweaty and dirty shirt is more valuable for our collection than one that is freshly washed.
All in all, it was another great event and the entire FIFA Museum team is already looking forward to the next edition in 2024.
