The Showcase: Mexico 1970

50 years and two months ago on 21 June 1970, Brazil beat Italy 4-1 in the 1970 FIFA World Cup Final. It was a tournament full of firsts. It was the first World Cup which allowed substitutions and where red and yellow cards were used for the first time. It was also the first and only World Cup where the champions got to keep the Jules Rimet Trophy.

To celebrate the 50-year anniversary, join our historian Guy Oliver as he tells the stories of the objects in the 1970 FIFA World Cup showcase at the FIFA Museum.
