Before this evenings’ match between England and Scotland kicks off, “Zwölf” editor-in-chief Mämä Sykora looks back at past head-to-heads between the two eternal rivals.

The first international football match took place, not entirely surprisingly, on British soil. The prestigious duel between England and Scotland has long been a classic, although the sporting significance of the match was not always equally high. So what exactly is behind this “Battle of Britain”?
