School classes

The FIFA World Football Museum particularly welcomes school classes. We see ourselves as an educational institution that supports schools when it comes to football, its history and its many links with society in general – every grade, from kindergarten to university.

We offer school classes from first grade (elementary school) up to twelfth grade (Matura) free admission to the permanent exhibition as part of our educational offer. Vocational schools and university students are excluded from this offer.

This applies to the following weekdays: Wednesday (mornings only), Thursday and Friday (all day). A pre-registration via email is mandatory.

PLEASE NOTE: If a school class visits the museum on a Tuesday, a Wednesday afternoon, a weekend day or without pre-registration the normal group rates of CHF 12 per person apply.

Think of the FIFA World Football Museum as a resource for your lessons!

Five reasons why we are important for children’s education:

Reason 1

As a global phenomenon touching all areas of society, football is all about people.

Reason 2

You can use your students’ interest in the world’s most popular sport to communicate exciting topics that are relevant to your curriculum.

Reason 3

A mixture of historic artefacts, curious objects and interactive stations is guaranteed to create a stimulating visit.

Reason 4

We focus on the personal stories that bring the exhibits to life.

Reason 5

Away from their usual school environment and the restrictions of the classroom, children can concentrate on football-related themes and stories for a change.

Primary level

Visits from primary school classes are based on learning in a fun and experimental way. The focus is on experiencing and trying things out in tours and workshops for children of this age group. Themes like fair play and the Laws of the Game are handled at the appropriate level via tasks and games.

Secondary level

Independent thinking, forming one’s own opinion and dealing with issues relevant to society – all of these skills have to be acquired by young people. Why not take the opportunity to use football to achieve these goals?

A tour with a secondary school class encourages students to contemplate, express themselves and exchange views with each other.

College and university

Visits to the FIFA World Football Museum can also prove beneficial to college and university students. Whether taking a look at the sort of museum careers available or examining themes from football history on an academic basis, there are many options and they can be individually tailored to the target group’s needs and interests.

On request, various experts from a range of museum areas can provide some insights on your tasks and experience.
