France

Of the four European teams present at the inaugural FIFA World Cup™, France is the only one to have gone on to lift the trophy, becoming champion in both 1998 and 2018. Lucien Laurent scored the very first goal in the tournament's history for Les Bleus in 1930, while Kylian Mbappé scored the last goal of the 2022 edition of the tournament.
