The FIFA Museum had the pleasure of welcoming a very special world champion to Zurich: Anna Schøning, who won the international women’s football championship “Coppa del Mondo” in Italy in 1970 with the Danish club Boldklubben Femina.

For Schøning, this was her second visit to the FIFA Museum. Her first visit took place in September 2021. Back then, she visited the museum with her 1970 teammates to hand over two very special objects to the FIFA Museum Collection: the 1970 trophy and the ball from the final. Anna also donated her personal shirt from that time from her private collection to the museum.

This time, Schøning returned to the FIFA Museum with her husband, her two sons and their wives to take another look at the objects she donated, particularly her shirt.  

During this special reunion with the memorabilia, an emotional moment unfolded with the 1970 trophy, the final ball and, above all, Anna’s shirt. Both her sons and Anna herself shared several anecdotes about the shirt, which had hung in her wardrobe for years before finding its way into the FIFA Museum Collection.

After this emotional journey back in time, Anna and her family enjoyed an exclusive tour of the museum, which naturally also included a visit to the original FIFA Women’s World Cup Trophy.
