May 22, 2026 (TORONTO) – A new visual timeline was unveiled today at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport in celebration of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ coming to Toronto. “FIFA World Cup Final: Where Legends Are Made” showcases the tournament’s rich history through archival photographs from the FIFA Museum in Zurich, Switzerland, representing nearly a century of football fandom and sporting excellence.

Mounted in the pedestrian tunnel leading to the island terminal, this free, larger-than-life display captures the electrifying spirit of the FIFA World Cup’s most memorable moments on the pitch since 1930.

"It fills us with great excitement to be present in Toronto during the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026™ with such a powerful visual installation,” said Marco Fazzone, Managing Director, FIFA Museum. “As we bring the history of the tournament to life at this vibrant location, we can't wait to share the magic of football with fans from around the world who will gather in Toronto."

The visual timeline is on display along the pedestrian tunnel to the island terminal beneath Lake Ontario and features 20 large-scale archival photographs from each year of the World Cup. Together, they highlight the tournament’s most iconic final moments, legendary teams and celebrated players. Every tournament since 1930 is represented, illustrating how the competition has evolved and how its global appeal has endured.

“We’re thrilled to partner exclusively with the FIFA Museum to bring this visual timeline to life as Toronto prepares to welcome the world to this year’s tournament,” said RJ Steenstra, President & CEO, Toronto Port Authority. “The FIFA World Cup is more than a sporting event; it’s a shared global experience. As visitors walk through our pedestrian tunnel, they’re taken on a journey through nearly a century of unforgettable moments, bringing the excitement of the beautiful game into the heart of our airport.”

“FIFA World Cup Final: Where Legends Are Made” runs throughout the World Cup and until the middle of July. The display is free, fully accessible, and located within walking distance of key destinations, including the official FIFA Fan Festival™ at The Bentway and Fort York. Visitors can easily incorporate a visit into a full day of FIFA World Cup related activities.
