World Cup Fever at the FIFA Museum – Experience Football Up Close

World Cup Fever

Ahead of the FIFA World Cup 2026 in Canada, Mexico and the United States, the FIFA Museum is bringing the excitement of the tournament to Zurich. From 20 May 2026, the new World Cup Fever programme combines a special exhibition with shared match experiences, creating a space where visitors can engage with football in different ways throughout the summer.

At the heart of the programme is the new special exhibition World Cup Fever: Skills Zone, offering an interactive experience centred on the core skills of the game. Rather than simply observing, visitors are invited to step in and test their own abilities. The exhibition is structured like a football match, guiding visitors through a sequence of interactive stations that focus on speed, agility, coordination and precision.

A dedicated halftime section places the spotlight on the FIFA World Cup 2026, providing an overview of the host countries, cities and stadiums. Throughout the experience, an audio layer inspired by live match commentary accompanies visitors, reinforcing the feeling of being part of the action on football’s biggest stage.

Each station is linked to elite-level players and the skills they demonstrate at the highest level of the game. The challenges draw on the abilities of stars such as Erling Haaland, Vinícius Júnior, Kylian Mbappé, Lionel Messi, Yassine Bounou, Vitinha and Harry Kane. The activities are based on training systems used in professional football to measure and develop cognitive and motor performance factors, including reaction, perception and agility.

At the end of the experience, each visitor receives a personalised scorecard summarising their results, offering a simple way to compare performances with others and reflect on their own strengths across the different challenges.

Authentic objects from the FIFA Museum’s official collection are displayed alongside the interactive stations, linking the hands-on experience with the professional game and its history. Highlights include a match-worn shirt from Manchester City F.C. worn by Erling Haaland during the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 and boots worn by Vinícius Júnior at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, creating a direct connection to performances on the global stage.

Beyond the exhibition, the World Cup Fever programme continues throughout the tournament with public viewings of selected FIFA World Cup 2026 matches. The FIFA Museum offers fans the opportunity to follow key fixtures together in a unique football setting and share the atmosphere of the tournament in Zurich.

World Cup Fever: Skills Zone is available as an add-on to a regular museum ticket and is priced at CHF 8.
