Jordan national team visits FIFA Museum

The Jordanian national team and backroom staff visited FIFA World Football Museum on Friday, 19 August 2016. After being welcomed to the new home of football history by Managing Director Stefan Jost, the team enjoyed a small breakfast in the banquet hall before going on a tour of the museum. Following a quick history lesson in The Foundations room – the museum’s historic heart – the players enjoyed browsing the many historic exhibits on show here. As usual there was more than a few people posing for photos with the World Cup trophy, and the team seemed to have a lot of fun with the interactive stations in the FIFA World Cup™ Gallery. The ‘Soccer Dance’ and ‘Send a Selfie’ stations in particular proved very popular with the players, as was The Cinema and giant Pinball game. “I was really impressed with the museum,” said goalkeeper Amer Shafi, speaking to museum staff. “Honestly, I would really like to encourage everyone all around the world to come and to see this beautiful exhibition of football history. “It is really inspiring and helps to connect people.” Jordan are in Zurich after having played an international friendly against Qatar on 18 August. The <a href="http://www.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranking/ranking-table/men/">men’s team is </a><a href="http://www.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranking/ranking-table/men/">currently ranked</a><a href="http://www.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranking/ranking-table/men/"> 79th</a>, while the <a href="http://www.fifa.com/fifa-world-ranking/ranking-table/women/index.html">women’s team sits a little higher at 54th</a>. The country will be hosting the U17 Women’s World Cup this year, which kicks off on September 30 and runs until October 21.
