The Long Night of Museums: What's on

The FIFA World Football Museum is very excited to announce that it will be taking part in the 'Die Lange Nacht der Zürcher Museen’ – or Zurich’s Long Night of Museums – on 3 September 2016. The city-wide event features more than 50 of Zurich’s best and most exciting venues and, as it runs from 7PM to 2AM, allows guests to see a slightly different side to them too.

As well as being open to all walk-in visitors throughout the event, the new home of football history has organised a number of different tours especially for the event, with options in both English and German. Unless otherwise specified the maximum number of participants on each tour is 20 people. Guests can register for each tour at the museum. Tickets to Zurich's Long Night of Museums can be bought in person at the museum, or visit the official website for more information.

Guests can get a taste for the museum's first temporary exhibition ‘Brazil 2014 Revisited’ (opening September 21), learn the stories behind many of the unique exhibits on show and how they were acquired, or even get a taste of the technical work that goes into running the museum. In keeping with the theme of the first temporary exhibition, Sportsbar 1904 will be also screening a selection of classic football matches against a backdrop of music and cocktails – all with a distinctly Brazilian flavor, of course.

"We hope that our visitors have lots of fun on the tours we are offering and maybe even learn a few things too," said Stefan Jost, the museum's managing director.

"We have tried to make sure we offer something for most people - whether they are true football fans or have more of a passing interest.

"We are delighted that we are able to take part in the Nacht der Zürcher Museen. Having just opened the museum this year, we are very grateful to the organisers for welcoming us like this.

"Even if you’re not a football fan then at you can always take shelter in Sportsbar 1904!”
