The updated FIFA Women’s World Cup Trophy is back on display
<p><strong>The FIFA Women’s World Cup™ Trophy is back at the FIFA Museum with an updated base plate. 2023 world champions Spain have been added to the exclusive group of teams that etched themselves into the history books and onto the trophy’s base plate.</strong></p>
<p>The trophy was first awarded in 1999 at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in the USA and replaced the trophy that was presented to the winners of the previous tournaments. Since 1999 the US Women’s National Soccer Team has won the World Cup three times, Germany twice and Japan once. They are all engraved into the base plate of the trophy, the biggest prize in women’s football.</p><p>Now Spain have joined this exclusive group of world champions. So next time Eva Navarro and Aitana Bonmatí get a good look at the trophy they will find their victory engraved in it as well.</p><p> </p>
