The perfect match: FIFA Museum welcomes Club World Cup Trophy
Global club football has a new symbol – and now, footie fans can have an up-close and personal encounter with it. As of today, 13 January 2026, there is a new highlight at the FIFA Museum in Zurich, with the museum having added the FIFA Club World Cup Trophy to its permanent exhibition.
For a full month, the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ turned the United States into a stage, shining the spotlight on the finest club sides from around the globe. No fewer than 195 goals hit the back of the net across 63 exhilarating head-to-heads from Miami to Seattle and from Los Angeles to Philadelphia, making for a first-rate footballing spectacle.
After oozing class throughout the tournament, one team ultimately emerged victorious: Chelsea FC. The Londoners were crowned the inaugural winners of the new FIFA Club World Cup™ after a 3-0 win over Paris Saint-Germain in New York New Jersey. In the process, they not only added another piece of silverware to their trophy cabinet but also ushered in a new era in global club football.
A prize steeped in symbolism
The trophy is on display in the FIFA Museum’s The Foundations room, which pays tribute to FIFA’s origins and the organisation’s mission to foster international competition and continue growing football worldwide. A marker of the latest development in the global club game, the prestigious prize slots seamlessly into the history of world football’s governing body, combining the past, present and future of the sport.
Designed by FIFA and crafted in partnership with Tiffany & Co., the trophy embodies ambition, innovation and global unity. Its gold-plated surface bears laser-engraved motifs inspired by the beautiful game’s rich traditions and culture – from the original Laws of the Game and the founding of FIFA to typical football paraphernalia. Inscriptions in 13 languages and Braille underscore its universality. Every line, every detail stands for a competition that brings together clubs and people from all parts of the globe.

Experience innovation first-hand
As well as compelling action courtesy of the world’s top teams, the trailblazing FIFA Club World Cup 2025 also showcased advances in technology. These included the body cams worn by the referees, which offered a fresh angle on the game and brought fans closer to on-field decisions. You can learn more about these innovations at the FIFA Museum: our special exhibition Innovation in Action provides a deep dive into how state-of-the-art technology is shaping football, from what the officials see to new ways of analysing the sport.
The FIFA Club World Cup Trophy is synonymous with big matches, memorable moments and victors writing themselves into the history books. A modern and unforgettable footballing artefact for fans to feast their eyes on and explore, its arrival at its new museum home represents a real win for visitors.
