Miami showed up to see the FIFA World Cup Original Trophy
Thousands of fans came to the Freedom Tower in Miami on Sunday to see the FIFA World Cup Original Trophy and explore the FIFA Museum exhibition "Unidad – The World's Game".
Just like two weeks before, the FIFA World Cup Original Trophy was in town for just one day. A special highlight was welcoming the FIFA World Cup winner Marco Materazzi. The Italian, who won the title at the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany, scoring the equalizer in the final and converting his penalty in the decisive shoot-out, was reunited with the Trophy and shared some unforgettable memories with fans.
Over the course of the day, almost 5,000 fans from all over the world were keen not to miss out and waited patiently in line for the chance to be near the FIFA World Cup Original Trophy and take a picture with it.
Many of them made the most of their visit to the Freedom Tower and also visited the FIFA Museum exhibition Unidad - The World's Game.
After this eventful day, the trophy travelled back to New York City, where it was put back on display at the Legacies of Champions exhibition by the FIFA Museum presented by Hyundai at Rockefeller Center on Monday morning.
