10 years of celebrating football heritage and culture: FIFA Museum celebrates a global journey with free entry day and the launch of new digital exhibition
Over the past ten years, the FIFA Museum has grown into a global cultural platform for football heritage and culture. Marking its 10th anniversary, it now launches a year-long programme of activations and events, including the launch of the new digital exhibition “The Magic 10: Legends of the Beautiful Game” - whose first chapter on Pelé is now available - and a public open day in Zurich on 20 May 2026.
The FIFA Museum has steadily expanded its exhibition programme and international footprint. Alongside the continued development of its permanent exhibition in Zurich, it has extended its activities beyond Switzerland through exhibitions and activations at FIFA tournaments and other international events. This includes a permanent presence at the Freedom Tower in Miami, where the exhibition “Unidad - The World’s Game” presents football’s cultural narrative to audiences in the Americas.
In its first decade, the FIFA Museum has opened exhibitions on all continents and has welcomed more than two million visitors worldwide.
An important element of the anniversary programme is the digital exhibition “The Magic 10: Legends of the Beautiful Game”, which explores the legacy of one of football’s most iconic shirt numbers. Across the history of the FIFA World Cup™ and the FIFA Women’s World Cup™, the number 10 has come to symbolise creativity, vision and decisive moments on the pitch. Through the stories of ten legendary players, the exhibition highlights how those who wore the number have shaped matches and inspired generations of fans and players around the world.
The first chapter, dedicated to Pelé, is now available, revisiting defining moments of his career and his lasting impact on the game, while highlighting selected objects from the official FIFA Museum collection.

The anniversary celebrations will also be marked by a public open day at the FIFA Museum in Zurich on 20 May 2026, offering free admission to all visitors. As part of the programme, selected guests will have the opportunity to take part in a special challenge in the new special exhibition “World Cup Fever: Skills Zone”, that is opening on the same day, competing against former Italy international Christian Vieri and current Switzerland international Nadine Riesen.

“This anniversary is a great opportunity to share ten years of football stories with audiences around the world,” said Marco Fazzone, Managing Director of the FIFA Museum. “With a programme of activations, a new digital exhibition and special moments for visitors, we want to make this milestone accessible to as many people as possible. From those visiting our exhibitions to those engaging with us online, our aim is to bring fans closer to the game and to celebrate it together.”
